my shot at DEATH

Death, when it finally comes,
won’t be dark or gloomy.
It won’t be cold or dreadful.
It won’t be morbid or scary.
Instead, it will come as casually,
as if you’ve known each other for long.
It will come as noisy,
announcing its parade.
It will come as delightful,
as colorful, as zestful.
And yet,
it will still catch you in surprise.
For death,
when it finally comes,
will appear as itself,
as alive.
